The peel class is an educational session that focuses on teaching participants about the different types of chemical peels and their applications in skin care. During this class, students will learn about the different chemical agents used in peels, as well as the indications, contraindications, application techniques, and safety considerations associated with each type of peel. The peeling class agenda may include the following topics: 1. Introduction to chemical peels: definition, history and evolution of the technique. 2. Anatomy and physiology of the skin: understanding the structure of the skin and its response to chemical peels. 3. Types of chemical peels: superficial, medium and deep peels. 4. Chemical agents used in peels: glycolic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, among others. 5. Indications and contraindications of peels: identification of suitable candidates and situations in which treatment should be avoided. 6. Application techniques: skin preparation, application of the chemical agent, exposure time and neutralization. 7. Pre- and post-peeling care: recommendations for skin care before and after treatment. 8. Complications and management of side effects: identification and management of possible adverse reactions. 9. Treatment protocols: recommendations for the use of chemical peels in different skin conditions. 10. Ethical and legal considerations: rules and regulations in the practice of chemical peels. At the end of the peeling class, participants will have acquired the necessary knowledge to select, apply and manage chemical peels safely and effectively in their professional practice in areas such as dermatology, cosmetology, aesthetics, among others. This class is aimed at health and skin care professionals interested in expanding their skills and knowledge in the field of aesthetic treatments.
